Photo preview of the first “Portrait party” organized at 100ECS in Paris as part of the inauguration of the 12×12 festival on December 9th.
This first portrait party was a success, you came many to draw the portrait, all in a friendly and warm atmosphere. A huge thank to you all!
This event was for me the opportunity to show the atmosphere of a photo studio and especially to demonstrate that everyone, absolutely everyone can be photographed in the studio and leave with a beautiful portrait.
A studio portrait session may seem impressive, because it’s a moment when all the attention is on you. Especially if you are shy! As a photographer, I often hear “A portrait session? What for? I’m not photogenic anyway!” A beautiful portrait does not take into account the beauty criteria present in society or in fashion. A portrait will be successful if the person photographed is in good energy, relaxed, confident with the photographer. The portrait does not translate (only) the physical beauty of an individual but especially a state of mind, a mental posture. It is I think THE element that will make a portrait is successful or not. Then comes the notion of aesthetics of the portrait itself, the framing, the light … But the main ingredient of a portrait remains the person photographed!
During this Portrait Party, the ideal conditions of the studio were not necessarily at the rendez-vous: the sessions were very short, there were many people present in the room, which could add a layer of higher stress! Nevertheless, the participants all abstracted or conversely fed on this effervescence to be photographed. The overall atmosphere in the studio allowed the realization of quite amazing portraits. We laughed together, we all focused at the same time, you inspired each other while waiting for your passage. This synergy has kept a portrait studio spirit until the end. My fear was to make too many “Photobooth” style photos or improved selfies but that was not the case! On the contrary, everyone was on the same wavelength, made portraits of quality to leave with a nice memory.
If you also want to organize your portrait session for a love session, a baby bump, a family that is growing or even for professional purposes, don’t wait! Contact me to make an appointment!
I wish you all a Happy New Year!
